JTET Eligibility 2024: Age Limit & Qualification

The Jharkhand Academic Council will release the JTET Eligibility Criteria 2024 with the detailed official notification soon on the official website. The candidates who wish to participate in the TET exam should understand all the guidelines mentioned in the JTET Eligibility Criteria before starting with the application process. It is important to know the minute details about the JTET exam eligibility set by the council as if you fail to meet any conditions then it will lead to cancellation of their candidature. 

  • As per the JTET Eligibility, there is no bar for the candidates who wish to apply for Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test.
  • Only the candidates who have satisfied all the eligibility conditions and have successfully submitted the application form can download the JTET Admit Card from the official website.
  • The JTET Eligibility includes age limit, educational qualification, nationality, etc which should be fulfilled by all the aspirants.

JTET Exam Eligibility 2024

For JTET 2024, the eligibility criteria vary based on the stage of the exam. For the Primary Stage, candidates must have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 45% marks from a recognized board. For the Elementary/Upper Primary Stage, a graduation degree from a recognized university is required. Indian nationality is mandatory, and there are no restrictions on the number of attempts or the requirement for previous teaching experience. The age limit is not specified in the notification, emphasizing educational qualifications and citizenship as primary eligibility criteria.

JTET Exam Age Limit

Candidates of any age can apply and appear for the Teacher Eligibility Test, Jharkhand. There are no bars on the age of the candidate as long as they satisfy all the other factors specified in the JTET Eligibility Criteria.

JTET Exam Educational Qualification

The educational qualification criteria should be fulfilled by the candidates before applying for the exam. The JTET Qualification is given below:

Paper

Minimum Educational Qualifications

JTET- Paper I (For Primary Stage-Class I-V)

  • Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education

OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).

OR

  • Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

OR

  • Candidates with BA/B.Sc with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed degree from a recognized university.

JTET-Paper II (For Elementary/Upper Stage- Class VI-VIII)

  • Graduation with 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year D.Ed

OR

  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) with 50%.

OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed)/4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR

  • Passed B.A.(Education)/B.Sc(Education)/B.Ed(Special Education) with 50% marks.

Note: It is now compulsory for the general candidates to pass Class 10th/12th from a recognized institution of Jharkhand State to be eligible for the JTET exam. Along with that, they should have knowledge of the culture, language, and environment of Jharkhand. Reserved categories are exempted from this rule.

JTET Exam Nationality

Candidate should be an Indian citizen and should possess all the required documents issued by the government in order to be eligible to apply for the JTET Eligibility Test. They should have all the relevant documents as proof and submit them at the time of document verification.

JTET Exam Number of Attempts

The Jharkhand Academic Council has specified no restrictions on the maximum number of attempts to appear in the JTET examination. Candidates should read the important JTET Exam Books and other study material to avoid multiple attempts.

JTET Exam Experience

The Jharkhand Academic Council has not mentioned that previous working experience is required to apply for the JTET exam. Hence, freshers, as well as experienced candidates who meet all other JTET Eligibility conditions, can appear for this exam.
