CONCEPT:

Temperature: It is the measure of the degree of hotness and coldness of a body.
- The SI unit of temperature is Kelvin (K).
The various temperature scales commonly used are Celsius (C), Kelvin (K), Fahrenheit (F), and Rankine (Ra).
The temperature T in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) is equal to the temperature T in degrees Celsius (°C) times 9/5 plus 32:

\(°F={{9\over5}°C+32}\)

CALCULATION:

Given that:

Temperature (T) = 200 °C

Use the above-given formula:

\(°F={{9\over5}\times200+32=360+32=392°F}\)

EXTRA POINTS:

To convert Celcius into Kelvin scale:

K = C + 273.15

The temperature which shows the same measurement in Celcius and Fahrenheit scale = -40.
The temperature which shows the same measurement in Kelvin and Fahrenheit scale = 574.25.
