Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFSolution:
A completes the work in 30 days
B completes the work in 20 days
Total work = 60
Efficiency of A = 2
Efficiency of B = 3
Let the number of days A and B together worked be ‘x’
[(2 + 3) × x]/ 60 = 5/ 12
5x/60 = 5/12
x = 5
Remaining work = 60 – 5× 5 = 35
Number of days taken by A alone to complete the remaining work = 35/2 = 17.5 days
Total number of days taken to complete the work = 5 + 17.5 = 22.5 days
