Let the number of Peacocks in the forest is x, then number of tigers = 90 - x

According to the question,

x × 2 + 4(90 - x) = 240

⇒ 2x + 360 - 4x =240

⇒ 2x = 120

⇒ x = 60

The number of Peacocks in the forest = 60

And number of tigers in the forest = 90 - 60 = 30.
