In a row of people all facing North, Harry is 8th from the right end. Ben is 19th from the right end. Ben is exactly between Harry and Loin. If Loin is 7th from the left end of the line, how many people are there in the row?

The logic followed here is:

Number of people to the right of Harry = 8 - 1 = 7

Number of people to the right of Ben = 19 - 1 = 18

Number of people between Ben and Harry = (Position of Ben from the right) - (Position of Harry from the right) - 1

= 19 - 8 - 1 = 10

Since Ben is exactly between Harry and Loin, the number of people between Ben and Loin is also 10.

Position of Ben from the left end = (Position of Loin from the left) + (Number of people between Loin and Ben) + 1 = 7 + 10 + 1 = 18^th

Now we have the position of Ben from both ends:

Position of Ben from the left end = 18^th

Position of Ben from the right end = 19^th

Total number of people in the row = (Position of Ben from the left) + (Position of Ben from the right) - 1

= 18 + 19 - 1

= 37 - 1 = 36

Hence, the total number of people in the row is 36.
