Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Total profit = Rs. 147000
Investment ratio = A : B : C = 12 : 5 : 10
C withdraws half of his capital after 6 months.
Formula Used:
Profit share = Investment × Time
Calculation:
C's investment for the first 6 months = 10 (full capital).
C's investment for the next 6 months = 10/2 = 5 (half capital).
Total weighted investment for C = (10 × 6) + (5 × 6)
⇒ Total weighted investment for C = 60 + 30 = 90
Total weighted investment for A = 12 × 12 = 144
Total weighted investment for B = 5 × 12 = 60
Total weighted investment for A, B, and C = 144 + 60 + 90 = 294
C's share of profit = (C's weighted investment / Total weighted investment) × Total profit
⇒ C's share of profit = (90 / 294) × 147000
⇒ C's share of profit = (90 × 147000) / 294
⇒ C's share of profit = 13230000 / 294
⇒ C's share of profit = Rs. 45000
Therefore, the profit earned by C is Rs. 45000.
