The Indian Air Force has released the recruitment notification for Group Y Medical Assistant with strict standards for the eligibility of the aspirant. - Candidates born between 02 July 2005 and 02 January 2009 (both dates inclusive) are eligible for 02/2026.
- For 02/2025, Medical Assistant trade (10+2) requires candidates born between 03 July 2004 and 03 July 2008, while Medical Assistant trade (Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy) requires unmarried candidates born between 03 July 2001 and 03 July 2006, and married candidates born between 03 July 2001 and 03 July 2004.
- Educational qualification requires passing 10+2 with 50% marks in English and aggregate, or completing a three-year diploma in engineering with similar requirements.

Airforce Group Y Medical Assistant Age Limit
The age limit for Air Force Group Y Medical Assistant varies depending on the intake cycle and qualification. For Intake 01/2026, candidates must be born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2008 (both dates inclusive), while for Intake 02/2026, the eligible birth range is from 02 July 2005 to 02 January 2009. For Intake 02/2025, Medical Assistant (10+2) candidates should be born between 03 July 2004 and 03 July 2008. For those applying with a Diploma or B.Sc (Pharmacy), the eligible birth range is from 03 July 2001 to 03 July 2006 for unmarried candidates, and 03 July 2001 to 03 July 2004 for married candidates. In all cases, the upper age limit must not exceed 21 years at the time of enrolment.
Air Force Group Y Educational Qualification
To be eligible for the post of Group Y, the applicants must have either of the following qualifications:

Candidate should have passed 10+2 / Intermediate / Equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from Education Boards recognized by Central, State and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and with 50% marks in English. OR Should have passed two years' Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects ie. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR Candidate with Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy. Candidate should have passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. In addition, Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy with a minimum 50% marks in aggregate with valid registration from State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) at the time of enrolment will be mandatory requirement. |
