CTET is a national-level exam that takes place twice a year to assess a candidate's eligibility for the position of teacher in schools. Candidates who wish to be teachers should appear in the CTET exam. To know what is asked in the exam, candidates must be familiar with the CTET syllabus for each and every subject. Topic Wise Distribution of CTET English Syllabus 2025

Candidates must be familiar with the CTET English Syllabus PDF paper 2 and its format if they plan to take English in one of their language sections. If candidates wish to take English as the first language section, then they must go through the CTET Language I English Syllabus. If candidates wish to take English as their 2nd Language section, they must go through CTET Language 2 English Syllabus. The same goes for the CTET papers as well. Candidates can choose English as their language section in Paper 1 and Paper 2, whichever they wish to give the exam for. If taking paper 1, candidates will have to study English Language Syllabus for CTET Paper 1 and if taking paper 2, then candidates will have to study the English Syllabus for CTET Paper 2.

CTET English Syllabus for Paper 1 (Primary Stage)

Candidates who wish to teach English to children of classes 1st to 5th must pass the CTET Paper 1 exam. Candidates must go over the CTET English Language Syllabus to ensure they are familiar with all the topics like in CTET Language 1 Language Comprehension and Pedagogy of Language Development is there, so they don't skip anything. The main difference between the CTET Paper 1 English Syllabus and CTET Paper 2 English Syllabus is the difficulty level, as Paper 2 is intended for classes 6th to 8th and Paper 1 for Classes 1st to 5th. According to the CTET Eligibility Criteria, candidates can select the papers they want to appear for and the classes they want to teach. Candidates must make sure that they are choosing English as their language option in any one Language section and not both. CTET English Syllabus Paper 2 (Elementary Stage)

If candidates are choosing English for Language 2 section, they will have to go through the English Syllabus for CTET Language 2. They must remember that English CTET Syllabus for Paper 1 and CTET English Syllabus for Paper 2 are the same with differences in difficulty level. The language code for English is 01 which candidates must remember while filling out the CTET Application Form.
