The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board conducts the examination to recruit Post-Graduate teachers (PGT) in Government schools in the state. The vacancies are released for various disciplines like English, Mathematics, Hindi, Sanskrit, Commerce, and others. The selection process comprises a written test, an interview, and an assessment of special qualifications. To prepare well for the recruitment, you must be familiar with the detailed UP PGT syllabus for the subject you have opted for.
This will provide an idea of the topics from which questions will be asked, and will also help identify the topics you are good at and the ones you need to work on. - As per the UP PGT exam pattern, the written test will be conducted for 425 marks. The interview will carry a weightage of 50 marks, and the maximum marks for special qualifications will be 25.
- A total of 125 questions will be asked in the written exam. Each question will carry a weightage of 3.4 marks.
- All questions asked will be MCQs with only one correct answer.

- The UP PGT written exam 2025 will be an objective type paper (MCQ).
- There will be 125 multiple-choice questions in total in the UP PGT Written Exam 2025.
- The total maximum marks for the UP PGT written examination 2025 will be 425.
- For each question, 3.4 marks are allotted.
- The total duration for the UP PGT Written exam 2025 will be 2 hours.
- There will be no negative marking in the UP PGT Written Exam 2025.
- 50 marks are allotted to UP PGT interview round 2025 and 25 marks for UP PGT Special Qualification 2025.
- In the UP PGT Special Qualification round 2025 candidates who have a doctor's degree, M.Ed. or B.Ed. degree, participated in the national level sports event, will be given 25 marks.
- Candidates will be asked questions on specific subjects only, apart from general subjects.

UP PGT Exam Marking Scheme 2025
Candidates should know the UP PGT Marking scheme 2025 so they can calculate marks when the UP PGT Answer Key 2025 is released. The expected UP PGT Marking Scheme 2025 is given below.
- The UP PGT Written Exam will be conducted for a total of 425 marks and carry 85 % weightage in the test.
- The total number of questions in the UP PGT Written Exam 2025 will be 125, and each question carries 3.4 marks.
- There will be no negative marking in the UP PGT Written Exam 2025 and no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.
- To calculate marks for the UP PGT Written Exam 2025, check the correct answers from UP PGT Answer Key 2022 and add all the correct answers.
- The UP PGT Interview round will be conducted for 50 marks and carry 10% weightage.
- The UP PGT Special Qualification round will be conducted for a total 25 marks and carry 5% weightage in the test.
