The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has released the Final response sheets for the examination conducted on 16th and 17th November 2024, under ADVT NO. 13/2023. Also, It issued an indicative advertisement for the WBPSC Clerkship Examination 2025 under Advt. No. 12/2025. This recruitment drive aims to fill Clerk positions in various government departments in West Bengal. WBPSC Clerkship Exam Dates 2025

WBPSC Clerkship 2025 Vacancy

The number of vacancies will be announced later. All appointments will initially be
made temporarily. The WBPSC Clerkship vacancy is Predicted to be divided into categories. Although the exact number of vacancies is not yet announced by the commission. Here are certain rules regarding the vacancies:

• Candidates will be required to mention their options in order of preference for the vacancies in the (a) Secretariat Departments (b) Directorates and (c) Regional Offices including district offices of Kolkata or one particular district.
• The reservation under S.C./S.T./O.B.C.(NC) candidates will be only valid for the candidates who are permanent residents of West Bengal only. 
• The S.C./S.T./B.C. candidates of State other than West Bengal shall be treated as general candidates. 
• Exchange of reservations between community categories is strictly prohibited.
• The number of vacancies is subject to change and final resolution lies in the hands of the WBPSC authorities.

WBPSC Clerkship 2025 Application Fee 

• An application fee of Rs.110/- (Rupees One hundred Ten only) is applicable, which is non-refundable.
• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD (whose permanent disability is more than 40%) of West Bengal are exempted from paying the application fee.
• The fees can be made through online and offline mode. Also, fees once paid will not be refunded. 

WBPSC Clerkship Selection Process 2025

There are three stages that the candidates have to clear in order to be selected for the post of Clerkship by WBPSC.

Part I Exam (Objective Type)

This stage-I of the WBPSC Clerkship selection process is a written exam, which is objective type in nature and consists of a total of 100 marks. The exam tests the knowledge of candidates across topics of English, General Studies, and Arithmetic. 

Part II Exam (Written Exam) 

This is the second stage in the selection process of the WBPSC Clerkship recruitment. This is again a written exam that consists of conventional-type questions. This section tests the knowledge of students across topics of Group-A: English, Group-B: Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali. This stage is of 100 marks. 

Computer Application and Ability of Typing

This is a mandatory qualifying round. In this stage, candidates will be tested on their knowledge of basic computer education. The candidates have to possess an ability to type 20wpm in English and 10 wpm in Bengali.

Note: The commission shall prepare the final merit list based on the marks obtained by candidates in all the stages of the selection process. The qualifying marks will be fixed by the commission.

Medical Test

All the candidates finally shortlisted will be tested by the medical board of the commission. This is again mandatory for all the candidates. The candidate should be fit mentally and physically to join the commission. 

WBPSC Clerkship 2025 Eligibility Criteria 

The candidate must ensure that he/she fulfills the WBPSC Clerkship Eligibility Criteria set by the commission. If the candidate does not meet any of the eligibility criteria, his/her application will be summarily rejected by the WBPSC, and application fees will neither be refunded nor adjusted.

• The candidate must be at least 18 years and not more than 40 years of age to qualify for the WBPSC Clerkship examination.
• The candidate must have passed the Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
• Must possess elementary knowledge in Computer operation with the ability to type on the computer at the speed of 20 words per minute in English or 10 words per minute in Bengali. 
• The candidate must be able to read, write, and speak Bengali. This is not the eligibility criteria for candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali. 

WBPSC Clerkship Exam Pattern 2025

The WBPSC Clerkship exam will consist of two exams i.e. Part I (Objective Type) and Part II (Conventional Type-written ).

• Part I is for 100 marks, whereas Part II is for 50 marks.
• All the candidates shortlisted in Part I will have to appear for the Part II test round. 
• The qualifying marks will be fixed by the commission. 
• The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates in both stages of the selection process, given they successfully qualify for the computer knowledge and typing ability round.
