Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven :
Aditya buys 300 mangoes for Rs. 1,100.
Sells the remaining mangoes at Rs. 5 each and makes a profit of Rs. 150.
Formula Used :
Profit = SP - CP
Calculation :
Let the number of mangoes rotten be x.
Profit = 150
⇒ 150 = (300 - x)5 - 1100
⇒ 150 = 1500 - 5x - 1100
⇒ 150 = 400 - 5x
⇒ - 5x = - 250
⇒ x = 50
Percentage of mangoes thrown away = 50/300 × 100 = \(16 \frac{2}{3} \% \)
∴ The correct answer is \(16 \frac{2}{3} \% \).
