अनुप्रस्थ सुदृढीकरण का अंतराल निम्नलिखित न्यूनतम दूरी से अधिक नहीं होना चाहिए:
- संपीड़न सदस्यों का न्यूनतम पार्श्व आयाम
- बांधने के लिए अनुदैर्ध्य सुदृढीकरण पट्टी का सबसे छोटा व्यास 16 गुना (अर्थात 16 φmin)

पार्श्व जोड़ का व्यास:
पार्श्व जोड़ का व्यास सबसे बड़े अनुदैर्ध्य छड़ के व्यास के एक-चौथाई से कम नहीं होगा और किसी भी स्थिति मे 6 mm से कम नहीं होगा।
