Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
The length of a cuboid is increased = 7%
The breadth of a cuboid is increased = 6%
Formula:
Volume of cuboid = l × b × h
Calculation:
Let the length, breadth and height of the cuboid be 10 unit
Volume of cuboid = 10 × 10 × 10 = 1000
New length of cuboid = 10 × (107/100) = 10.7
New breadth of cuboid = 10 × (106/100) = 10.6
New height of cuboid = 10
Volume of cuboid = 10.7 × 10.6 × 10 = 1134.2
Volume increase = 1134.2 - 1000 = 134.2
Volume percentage increase = (134.2/1000) × 100 = 13.42%
The answer is 13.42%
Shortcut Trick The successive increase = 7% + 6% + (7 × 6)%/100
⇒ 13.42%
