Concept

The 3ϕ power flowing in an overhead transmission line is given by:

\(P_L=\sqrt{3}V_LI_Lcosϕ\)

where, V= Line Voltage

IL = Line current 

cosϕ = Power factor

1.) Power Factor: A higher power factor means less reactive power in the system, leading to reduced losses in the transmission line and hence increased efficiency.
