AFMC MBBS Preparation strategy

There are certain tips and techniques that have been time-tested and have been working well for candidates over generations. We have tried to enlist them in this part of the article to help the candidates strategize, prepare and achieve their goals well within time. The preparation tips are as follows:

  • Work on your fitness and health: Physical fitness is a very important aspect when one wants to serve in the armed forces. As mentioned before, the AFMC is very peculiar about the physical standards of the candidates being selected. Thus, it is important to work out, maintain a good physique, stamina, muscle mass, etc. and ensure that the body is free from all sorts of diseases and deformities.
  • Mental health matters- since admission to AFMC involves a two-stage process, it becomes crucial to have a robust, alert, and resilient mindset. Such psychological strength will be required not just during the preparation and admission phase but also during the service period. Thus, it is strongly advised that the candidates work on their mental strength, discipline, resilience, self-esteem, capacity to work under pressure, etc. It will help them not just for AFMC but for their entire life.
  • Focus on the fundamental concepts: Understanding the key concepts well before and having clarity in your knowledge are key factors to scoring well in the NEET UG examination. It's also important that you get all your doubts resolved well within time and do not keep anything for later. Utilize standard books, seek good guidance and mentorship and keep your concepts clear while you prepare for AFMC MBBS.
  • Revision is the key: Daily Revision is important and is a very effective exam preparation strategy. For a better understanding of how forgetfulness works and how one can overcome the problem of forgetting what they have learned, he/she should go through Ebbinghau’s Curve. The Forgetting Curve shows that the biggest drop in retention happens soon after learning. So, always try to revise just after completing one topic. Make this your habit and follow it on a regular basis. Discuss difficult topics with your friends and teachers. Group discussion will help you to clear your basic concept.
  • Time management is crucial: The syllabus is vast. It is important to learn how to fit in everything that is important within the time constraints. Make a daily schedule for yourself and try not to change it often. Make short term and long term goals for yourself which will help you to measure how much time you have in hand and how much of it you should dedicate to a particular topic or subject.
  • Work on your personality: The interview stage is also involved in the selection process for AFMC. Thus, candidates must work on developing a strong personality, leadership skills, communication skills, confidence, presence of mind, proactive attitude, inquisitive thought process, and problem-solving skills in order to ace the interview well.
