My Role Model
I had been a following young man since first grade, but in fifth grade, I met someone who had a profound impact on my life. I began to act and think like him. Dr. A. P. J. Abul Kalam was known as a "Missile Man." His hairdo, fashion sense, bag, and personality were all well-known, and he was a source of inspiration. He is a multivitamin, and if you ever have the opportunity to interact with him, he will undoubtedly inspire you.
My Role Model’s Accomplishment
Abdul Kalam was a key figure in India's "Pokhran-II" nuclear tests in May 1998. The success of these nuclear tests elevated Kalam to the status of national hero, and his popularity skyrocketed.
As a technical visionary in nuclear energy, agriculture, and technological advancements, he made several recommendations to make India a developed nation by 2020.
Kalam was nominated for president by the country's ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in 2002, and he was elected. On July 25, 2002, he was elected India's 11th President, a position he held until July 25, 2007. He was also the third Indian President to be awarded the "Bharat Ratna" prior to taking office.
His working style and interactions with ordinary people, particularly young people, earned him the moniker "The People's President." Dr. Kalam's most difficult decision as president was to sign the "Office of Profit Bill."
During his presidency, he was chastised for his inaction in deciding what to do with mercy petitions sent to him. He only paid attention to one of the twenty-one mercy requests. In 2005, he backed the president's rule in Bihar, which was a contentious position.

Characteristics of a Role Model
Good role models light the way, serving as beacons of light by leading by example. Here are the important characteristics of a role model that distinguish them as natural leaders and help you remember what is truly important.
- Moral - A good example demonstrates high moral standards. When children see role models who care about important issues and are willing to put their beliefs into action, they grow and strengthen their own values. Role models behave morally and truthfully.
- Confident - Most people are drawn to self-assured people. Good role models do so while maintaining a healthy sense of pride in their accomplishments. They can be proud of their abilities and accomplishments without coming across as arrogant.
- Hardworking - Role models demonstrate their dedication to a cause and are willing to put in the time and effort required to succeed. They do not give up easily and persevere in the face of adversity.
- Respectful - Role models must respect others in order to be influential. Young people value respect and look up to those who show it to them as well as others.
- Positive and innovative - Role models inspire and uplift others by maintaining a positive outlook on life. It's unlikely that anyone aspires to be like a pessimist. Role models are individuals who can think creatively and see the positive side of adversity.
How Can I Be a Role Model to Others?
If you believe you can set a good example for others but aren't sure where to start, consider your areas for improvement and devote yourself to personal development.
First, try to get some feedback on your performance thus far. Don't be afraid to solicit feedback from those around you; they may be able to provide insight that you cannot see for yourself. Having a benchmark of your most recent performance may also be beneficial.
Second, in order to be an effective role model, you must have your own strong role models to aspire to. Consider the people who have influenced you and make a list of the qualities you admire or wish to emulate in them. This may appear intimidating if you believe there is a significant gap between you and your role models. However, this is just the beginning of your journey.
Conclusion
It is not necessary to learn from famous people; an ant and a young child can both teach us something. Learning should be an ongoing process. Every day, Dr. Kalam, who had an amazing personality, taught us something new. We should definitely learn from him.
