JEE Main Expected Cut Off 2025: Category Wise Qualifying Marks for IIITs, NITs & GFTIs!

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is the conducting body for Joint Entrance Examination, Mains (JEE Main). The session 1 for this is already over in January 2025 for which the cutoff has been released at the official website @jeemain.nta.nic.in. The JEE Main 2025 session 2 will end on April 9 after which response sheet will be published. After analysing the final answer key NTA will publish the JEE Main category-wise cutoff list to get admission into top NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. This cutoff will also important to apply for JEE advance.
- The expected JEE Main Cut Off for General category is 95+, 83+ for OBC, 85+ for EWS, 65+ for SC, and 50+ for ST.
- The qualifying JEE Main cut off refers to the minimum marks scored to appear for the JEE Advanced, which is the second stage to JEE Mains to get admission in prestigious institutes such as IITs.
- Candidates can use their JEE Main Cut Off Marks 2025 for admissions to B.Tech courses in the IIITs, NITs and GFTIs.
- Candidates must note that the JEE Main cut off marks and the admission cut offs are different. This qualifying cut off is released along with the JEE Main Result.

JEE Main Expected Cut off 2025
As compared to JEE Main session 1, 2025, the session 2 was easy. Also, the number of registered candidates is expected to go down. Thus, overall the JEE Main session 2 cutoff 2025 will be similar to that of session 1.
The expected JEE Main Cut Off 2025 for the General candidates is 100-92, for EWS/OBC is 85-83, for SC is 67-65, and for ST category is 51-50. The category wise cut off marks will be released by NTA on the official website @jeemain.nta.nic.in. Check the JEE Main Cut Off 2025 marks in the table below –

JEE Main Cutoff 2025 for OBC
The cut off marks of JEE Main 2025 for OBC category is anticipated to be 79-81 percentile. As per the previous year cut off trends, the OBC-NCL cutoff percentile was 79.67 in 2024 and 73.61 in 2023. OBC candidates who have appeared in the JEE Main 2025 January Session must wait for the official JEE Main Cut Off Marks 2025.
JEE Main SC Candidates Cutoff 2025
For SC Candidates, it is expected that the JEE Mains Cut Off Marks 2025 will be up to 67-65. Based on the previous year's trends, the Cut Off Marks for JEE Main were 82-86 for SC Category.
How to Check JEE Main Cutoff Marks?
The JEE Main Cut Off Marks 2025 will be released on the official NTA website after the exam session is completed. The cut off marks will be calculated after normalization of scores across both the shifts and sessions of the JEE Main 2025 January session. Candidates can check the cut off marks from the official website by following the steps given below –
Step 1 – Visit the Official Website. Navigate to jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Step 2 – Locate the Cutoff Notification. On the homepage, find and click on the link labeled "JEE Main 2025 Cutoff Marks."
Step 3 – Access the Cutoff Details. The cutoff information will be displayed; review it carefully.
Step 4 – Download the Document. Click on the download icon or link to save the cutoff marks document to your device.

Minimum JEE Main Marks to Qualify for JEE Advanced
To qualify for JEE Advanced 2025, candidates must meet the minimum qualifying marks criteria in the JEE Main 2025 based on their category. This minimum qualifying marks will vary each year. As per previous year trends, the minimum qualifying marks for General category is 93-95 percentile, 91-93 for OBC. To qualify for JEE Advanced, candidates should typically aim for a percentile above 90. The JEE Main Rank to qualify for JEE Advanced 2025 is expected to be in the range of 500 to 1000.
