The KVPY exam is organised by Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. All the candidates are required to clear the aptitude test round in order to be summoned for the interview round. What is the KVPY Exam?

KVPY, also known as Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, is a fellowship or scholarship program that is held nationwide by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The purpose of conducting KVPY is to promote research based careers among excellent students in basic science courses. 

• KVPY is a 3 hours long examination that is conducted to encourage excellent students to make their future based on scientific research
• It is important to be in class 11th in order to pursue the SA and SX streams. However, SB stream demands enrolment in 1st year of any undergraduate degree related to science
• It offers monthly scholarship to the students who are willing to pursue courses related to Basic Sciences

The official notification for KVPY has not been released by the competent authorities. Last year, the application form was released on 12th July 2021.The official notification for the KVPY exam 2022 is likely to be released from July to September 2022. KVPY Eligibility Criteria 2022

KVPY Selection Process 

The selection of the applicants will depend upon the Aptitude Test followed by an Interview round. The shortlisted candidates will be summoned for the interview round. Based on the performance in the Aptitude Test and Interview round, the concerned authorities will prepare a merit list. 

• The weightage of the Aptitude Test and Interview round will be 75% and 25% respectively
• The purpose of conducting the interview round is to judge and evaluate a candidate's Knowledge, skills, and talent in the field of scientific research

KVPY Exam 2022 Registration Process

Registration is the first step in filling out the KVPY exam 2022 application form. The conducting authority is likely to release the registration form online. Follow the given steps to get yourselves registered on the portal- 

Step 1: Go to the official website of the conducting body, IISc Bangalore kvpy.iisc.ernet.in/

Step 2: Click the online admission link

Step 3: Click the admission window

Step 4: Go to the registration option

KVPY 2022 Application Process

The KVPY application form is likely to be released in the month of July 2022. Initially, candidates must complete the registration form prior to fill up the application form. After the completion of the registration process, applicants will have to fill out the KVPY application form. KVPY Exam 2022 Pattern and Test Structure

The KVPY exam 2022 will be conducted online via CBT (Computer Based Test) mode. The KVPY exam is going to be held in English only. The exam pattern and test structure for SB and SX will be the same. However, the exam pattern and test structure for SA will be separate from the other two streams. 

• There will be a total of 80 questions, carrying a total of 100 marks, in KVPY exam SA 2022
• The questions will be distributed across two parts
• Part 1 comprises 60 questions of 60 marks (carrying 1 mark each question)
• Part 2 comprises 20 questions of 40 marks (carrying 2 marks each question)

• There will be a total of 120 questions, carrying a total of 160 marks, in KVPY exam SB/SX 2022
• The questions will be distributed across two parts
• Part 1 comprises 80 questions of 80 marks (carrying 1 mark each question)
• Part 2 comprises 40 questions of 80 marks (carrying 2 marks each question)

• KVPY follows a negative marking scheme
• Each incorrect question in Part 1 of every stream shall lead to deduction by 0.25 marks
• Each incorrect question in Part 2 of every stream shall lead to deduction by 0.5 marks

KVPY 2022 Admit Card

The admit card for KVPY exam 2022 will be released on the official website of the conducting authority. Candidates can visit the official website and enter the credentials in order to download the hall ticket.
