SSC CGL ASO Eligibility 2024: Age Limit & Qualification
The Staff Selection Commission, popularly known as SSC, will be releasing the notification for the recruitment of candidates for the post of Assistant Section Officer on June 10th 2024. The exact number of vacancies has not been released by the Staff Selection Commission yet. Candidates who are preparing for the SSC CGL ASO recruitment 2024 have to satisfy the SSC CGL ASO eligibility criteria in terms of age limit, educational qualification, and nationality.
- The maximum age limit for the candidates to appear for the SSC CGL ASO exam 2024 is 30 years except for some candidates who are eligible for age relaxations.
- Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- The candidate must be a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan only.

SSC CGL ASO Age Limit
Candidates must meet the age requirements specified for the ASO post in the official notification. The following is the minimum and maximum age requirements –
- Minimum age limit: 18-20 years (varies with departments)
- Maximum age limit: 30 years

SSC CGL ASO Age Relaxation

SSC CGL ASO Educational Qualifications
Candidates are required to satisfy certain educational qualification criteria to appear for the SSC CGL ASO examination. A candidate who aspires to appear for the SSC CGL ASO exam needs to have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree in any discipline from a recognized university of India.
SSC CGL ASO Nationality
As per the official notification released by the SSC, candidates who want to apply for the SSC CGL Assistant Section Officer posts should be a citizen of either India, Nepal or Bhutan.
SSC CGL ASO Number of Attempts
As per the SSC, there is no limit vis-a-vis the number of attempts for the candidates aspiring to become SSC CGL Assistant Accounts Officers and Assistant Audit Officers in 2024.

The Staff Selection Commission has not prescribed eligibility criteria in terms of experience.

Apart from meeting the above age and educational qualification requirements, candidates must note the following points about the eligibility criteria for the ASO post below –
- All the posts carry All India Service Liability (AISL) i.e. the candidate, on selection, may be asked to serve anywhere in the country.
- Candidates will be required to display proof of eligibility during the Document Verification process. Failing to show proof of eligibility will lead to disqualification.
