The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is the CSIR UGC NET full form. The National Testing Agency conducts this examination biannually on behalf of the CSIR and UGC. The CSIR NET full form in English is the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test. As the name suggests, this is a national-level examination in which Indian nationals with satisfactory eligibility can participate. This exam is held twice a year, usually in June and December. The CSIR NET JRF full form is the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) National Eligibility Test (NET) Junior Research Fellow (JRF). Candidates from a Science and Technology background are eligible to apply for this examination, subject to the terms and conditions. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the CSIR NET examination. Without satisfying the eligibility, a candidate will be ineligible to apply.   • The JRFs receive a monthly stipend of Rs 31000 + HRA in the first two years of their PhD. 
  • After two years as JRF and if the fellow is registered for PhD, the Fellowship will be upgraded to SRF (NET), and the stipend is increased to Rs 35000 + HRA for selected candidates who comply with the CSIR’s standards.
  • Some foreign colleges and universities also accept the CSIR NET score for granting admission to the PhD courses to the candidates for the respective subjects of CSIR UGC NET.
  • Assistant Professors receive Rs 37000 to Rs 67000 approximately as per the UGC 7th pay commission. This can be increased up to Rs 1.31 lakhs to 1.44 lakhs.
